Welcome to 2012 the date mentioned in many prophecies. It is impossible not to realise that something is happening the probability of financial collapse, war, riots and civil unrest is extremely high.
Bible scholars have known for many years that there are events occurring around the world that seem to be directly related to Biblical Prophecy; the prophets Daniel, Ezekiel, Isaiah and Jeremiah all describe the “end times” and the New Testament Gospel includes prophecies made by Jesus Christ. Most of these are vague as to the actual dates and concentrate on events and the need to live according to Biblical instruction. The book of Daniel however gives specific times for events to occur, he talks of a period of “days” that certain events will take to pass.
With many translations for time periods there is often conjecture over the actual duration of periods such as “days”, “weeks” (or sevens) and other ages, often many of these are interchangeable. With hindsight we can now ascertain with a fair degree of confidence exactly what Daniel was predicting. We can identify his accuracy by examining predictions of the various empires that would exist after his time and now we can establish what he meant by the 1335 “days” that would precede Judgement Day. This period is made up of an era of 1290 years called the “days of the Gentiles” which we can now identify as the period of 1290 years (according to the Hebrew calendar) that followed the banning of the daily sacrifice and when Muslims and Christians controlled and fought over
In addition to the calamities Daniel also predicts a great multitude of survivors, “ten thousand times ten thousand” will attend Judgement where the Almighty’s messenger called (by Daniel and Enoch) “the Ancient of Days” (Daniel 7:9-13) and in Revelation 7:2 “an Angel from the East” will pronounce judgement (or seal the servants of G0d); then the “Son of Man” (Messiah) will be seen and will be acknowledged and granted sovereignty over all the Earth. Judgement is predicted to come before the Messiah’s arrival. Nostradamus also predicts one who is “long awaited in Europe” but who will come from “the deepest part of
Scripture also predicts the destruction of the world “as a result of the actions of its inhabitants” and the demise of two thirds of the Earth’s population. This indicates that 4.3 billion people will die this year, for more information on this read your Bible or buy my book Physics God and the End of the World. My advice is to forget the dire warnings and live a righteous life, trust that the promises in prophecy are as accurate as the warnings. Scripture tells us that if the Lord is your shelter you shall be saved, nothing else will work.
