The tragedy of Islam
The internet is full of
claims and theories about Islam many of these are not the truth and come from a
misunderstanding. One claim that has appeared quite a bit in social media is a
statement that says, “Allah is not God.” The name Allah means God and is simply
the Arabic pronunciation of the Hebrew word Eli which is the word for God; it
is the most used word for God in the original Hebrew Bible. In fact it is the
word used by Jesus when he was dying on the cross, “Eli Eli Lama Sabachth ani?” (My God, My God why hast thou forsaken me?). This plea is a direct quote from Psalm 22:1
which would have been well known by Jesus and his disciples.
Islam was introduced amongst the descendants of Ishmael who were
predominantly Druze, as was Jethro, the Father in Law of Moses. The Druze were
friends and brothers to the descendants of Isaac and his son Israel, the
Hebrews, who became the Jews once they settled in Judea. The tragedy of Islam
is that Muhammad introduced a philosophy that empowered those of evil and
destructive natures to kill or convert their fellow man. The intent of Muhammad
was to conquer the world which was demonstrated by his own behaviour, he led a
violent Jihad that willingly slaughtered those who stood against him and even
those who surrendered under promise of safety. Islam proudly boasts of the
large numbers who died at the hands of their prophet.
It is not just in the matter of converting infidels that Islam is violent
it is also violent to its adherents and especially to anyone who wishes to
leave the religion. Prior to the creation of Islam the descendants of Abraham
all observed the same laws, when Abraham bound his son upon the Alter the
Almighty pledged that he would be God unto all Abraham’s seed “unto all
generations”. The rules and traditions that began with Abraham were subverted
by Muhammad to create a force designed for conquest.
Most Muslims are very good people, kind and non-violent but the
traditions introduced by Muhammad force them to follow a path that was not
intended by their forefathers and locks them into this paradigm under threat of
death. The philosophy is pedantic about observance of the first and second
commandments, observing only one God and not creating graven images but then
readily disregarding the third commandment and calling out to God as they
commit murder, claiming it is in his name. Most people including Muslims don’t
go around killing people but for those with a proclivity to violence this view
provides a ready excuse.
The final tragedy of Islam is that many otherwise good people are led
into believing that actions condemned by God are acceptable under the rules of
their religion. Islam requires submission it does not encourage people to
examine their actions so that many think it their duty to kill and harass non-believers.
Muslims who go out and shoot or stab people or blow up buses do so thinking
that what they are doing is a good thing whereas logic should tell them that
this is not the case. The very teachings of Islam inspire many to break the
commandments and jeopardise any hope of redemption and that is a tragedy.
